Alexander Paterson Brown spent his youth navigating boats along the Fraser River before working for years as a commercial salmon fisherman — a chapter that ended only after he survived powerful storms and the sinking of his own boat. What began as simple children's stories written for his daughters slowly grew into a private, lifelong relationship with writing. Today, based in Statesville, North Carolina, he writes poetry that mirrors the seasons of life.
